"In many systems of cosmology or 'universe creation,' the primal source- or fountain head- mysteriously emanates the Twins, who manifest the first principles of creation, that of separation and opposition." -Apocalypse Culture; "Who Rules over the Earth"
Now on the other hand a lot of mystical societies are also magical, a much more primal past-time. Thus after they reach the highest heights they coum back down to URth, and are now ready for the real challenge of Crossing the Abyss. For the stronger you are mentally the farther you will be able to go into the Abyss before you break up and go unconscious. See if you can hold on long enough, you can reach the singularity (>), and the reaching of that point (.) is what it means to cross. Entering the crown and returning back to the URth has also been referred to as the Near Death Experience (NDE). Myth- ologically it is the Fall of man from heaven, or the Tower of Babel. For when one goes to heaven, one has communicated with the angel, and so gains knowledge of him, but remains independent until one dies. Now when you cross the Abyss (the URth or muldahara charka) you become the Master of the Temple and loose your angel. Why? because the angel is no longer a prisoner of the higher mind (the genii is left out of the bottle). Rather it takes full possession of you (i.e. it has been evoked) and the spirit becomes flesh. When the angel was in heaven it had dominion over the URth (all spirits were subject under him; check out the Ritual of the Bornless One in the Goetia) but when fleshed it has all the powers of hell (the change is similar to Lucifers fall from Heaven. Before that he was immortal and was in all the decisions on the fate of the world. When he fell he became a god in the flesh). This is eviloution of man into the alien (Maatian) beasT, which the Old Ones are thought to be.
"The King killing aspect of the rigamarole is symbolized by a serpent crucified on a tau cross, the serpent representing the cosmic male-female union. The unified masculine and feminine powers in contention is symbolized by a two-headed androgyne. Their separation is effected by the death of the tau serpent." I was immediately impressed by the symbolism of this paragraph. The serpent as kundalani, and the cross possibly representing the lingam. The cross though is usually correlated with death, and this would probably be a more accurate association. The combination could be interpreted as that when one becomes the King the serpent (kundalani) is crucified and dies. For the King is the man with the Crown of thorns, or halo. He ascends to heaven and becomes the holy spirit. Communion is achieved by resurection via the host. The King must sacrifice his body and life to open the gates of Heaven. Christ and Satan are said also to be brothers and so their antagonism is only sibling rivalry. In this incarnation they are often refereed to as Cain and Abel. When Christ becomes the King, Satan is vanquished. This is also represented in the European myth of the slaying of the dragon (serpent). As well the Babylonian myth where Marduk slays Tiamat, and fashions the world from her corpse. This last myth would seem to convey some sort of resurection. So creation via the Logos is made possible by the crucifixion of the serpent that symbolizes life. This was the goal of the Hermetic art, to disect nature, and recreate again in your image. So the killing of the King of the Jews was Christ slaying the dragon so he may open the gates of Heaven. When Satan (the serpent) is murdered, the equilibrium of the two brothers is destroyed. This correlates as well to the schizophrenic split, and the domination of the left hemisphere of the brain. Thus Christ, the Western white man, and the A-bomb (the `A' correlates to man as Adam, and as well correlating to the pentagram, symbol of man. The fission chain reaction is the result of the splitting of Adam.) finally vanquish their eviloutionary foe Nature.
The significance of this symbol extends well beyond the Jewish book that enslaved the world, rather its symbolism is universal and timeless. So therefore cant be pinned down to the war-crimes of Vatican priests. Even the crucifixion itself seems to be a universal occurrence. This is something that has really dumfounded me, why is the ritual of the Hanged man such a venerable rite of passage? Something that is rarely questioned is how were the initiates hung? The easy answer is the obvious Christ upon the cross, and the Indians and Native Americans by flesh hooks (ironic that the Indian practice is in honor of the goddess Kali, a seriously pissed off "virgin" Mary. Perhaps shes so mad because she was actually raped by the Holy ghost, and lied about the whole pigeon story to protect her chasity. So Christ would actually be the illegitamate son of goD.). But why would such a strange and bizarre practice like flesh hooks (which actually would correlate to Christs crucifixion) be so universal. I mean here is a very extreme method for Gnosis, that wouldn't seem to be an obvious method, nor that all desirable (to except a few creative guys with much time on their hands). The gnosis would seem to be achieved by the excruciating pain endured by the hooks. Though how, for the believers feel no pain at all? This still doesn't disallow gnosis and from what I've read seems to be a prime aspect of the ritual. Still why flesh hooks, and why to be hung? What I don't understand is why isn't a more obvious answer suggested, that is whose to say they weren't actually hung? It came to me that perhaps the truth behind the crucifixion is autoerotic asphyxiation. This is when you hang yourself by a noose while masturbating. It is said that this will induce an incredible orgasm, of a somewhat URth shattering magnitude. Such an orgasm sounds like a hell of technique to visit outer-space. The original theory might be explained by shamans desire to fly (an interesting coincidence is the godform Osiris Slain where the initiate stands with his arms outstretched like Christ upon the cross, or a bird in flight), in the spirit vision; and so the body had be elevated beyond the URth. This explanation also held for my theory, but mine also explains how hanging might be such a universal practice. For the flesh hooks concept still seems pretty novel, but the high of autoerotic asphyxiation is not due to pain, which a million non hanging ritual could achieve, but a devastating orgasm of great magnitude.
The theory of autoerotic asphyxiation makes sense NEMOnikly as well. In that as one rises into the heavens the oxygen gets thinner, and the brain starts to halucinate as its cells begin to die enmasse. At the climax (i.e. the height of the Tower or Genius) the body is shattered like an exploding sun, and the magician dies (hopefully only a little death). This seems to be an effective technique for creating a real (not simulated like the OBE, or some other neurosomatic ethno hallucination, these visions of are of an actual dying brain) Near Death Experience, of religious proportions. The Cross is the Jacob ladder of lights, upon it man can ascend into heaven like Jack climbing the bean stalk. He does so by arousing the serpent via some sort of lust inducing activity (to a religious hermit, like most saviors are, this would probably be limited to autoeroticism). The serpent rises and rises until he reaches Heaven, the climax. Where he explodes or dies the little death, and becomes disembodied (astral), liberated (like the bird- symbol of Liberty) from the flesh. Such transcendance can also be accomplished by strangulation, where the intiates conscious again rises up the tree in the upper branches with the foul, who inhabit it. This death though is big, and a man rarely returns to tell of it. That is a normal man, something the intiate is not. He would be very likely to know how to die and return to the living. Being in that twilight state between the worlds is how he works his magick anyway; death is an occupational hazard. So the combination of the two create the great death from which only the gods return.
Many cultures had their Christs, like the Norse's Odin (a god of Kings, that is those who obtained the crown), who hung upon the world tree Yggradrasil for nine days upon where he received the runes. Elsa-Brita Titchenell comments upon this in her book The Masks of Odin: "The parallels between Odin's death and Christs crucifixion are striking: both die voluntarily; Odin is pierced with a spear and so is Christ; Odin alludes to the lack of a reviving drink and Christ is given vinegar; Odin screeches or shrieks before he dies, and Christ cries out in a loud voice." These similarities seem remarkable and the many other similarities between the Norse religion and that of Christianity have lead many to believe that the Northerners merely appropriated their mysteries. Such seems a pretty bankrupt theory, on the premise the Norse had no culture. They may have been influenced, by the crusading Christians, like the Africans were when they were taken as slaves. From these cross breedings, religions like Voodoo and Santaria were born, and perhaps as well the Norse. Though the idea that the Christian is this pure myth unadulterated by other fables would be a flat out lie. I have read many accounts where Christian myths strike an uncanny resemblance to pagan ritual and religion. This is in the similar vain of early churches being built of pagan sacred sites, so as to replace the other in spiritual significance, but also incorporating the latter in its own practice, adapting to local custom (like the Africans adapting to Christianity). This possible ability of influence by crusaders doesn't explain the Aztec god Quetzicoatl. Who was said to be the Mayans only white god. To bad Christ wasn't a white god or that would have been a hell of a coincidence. As it is it still amazing because according to myth Quetzicoatl (which means Feathered Serpent) left his people and promised to return. On the day he was supposed to arrive, the Spaniards landed on Mexican soil. And the man that led the expedition was taken to be the god Quetzicoatl returned. This god (like the Spaniards) too carried a cross, and was crucified upon one. I was considering again the crucified serpent and how if the snake is Kundalani then the crucifixion would be its death, i.e. the little death. The cross as I mentioned earlier can be associated with a bird in flight. This reminds me of the flag of Mexico (based on ancient Aztec myth of the founding of Mexico City, the city where Montazuma ruled, the king who greeted the Spaniards) which is of a bird with a serpent in its mouth. The could represent Kundalani taken up in flight, ascending into the brow and out into the crown of heaven. Kundalani is spent, or sacrificed from the body either during an orgasm or an OBE. The following is a quote from Manly Philip Halls Sectre Teachings of All the Ages: "One of the most interesting interpretations of the crucifixion allegory is that which identifies the man Jesus with the personal consciousness that conceives of and dwells in the sense of separatenesses [that is objectivity, like the schizoid split], and before the aspiring soul can be reunited with the ever present and all pervading Father this personality must be sacrificed that the Universal Consciouses may be liberated."
The knowledge mystics seek is what philosophers call truth, and how one achieves this is by knowing oneself (a microcosm of the Universe). Perhaps going beyond the veil (which separates the brow and crown charkas) to the higher self. For maybe the Genius is so creative because he sees himself as he really is (though he views all of creation from quite some distance, a huge abyss separates him). I had already thought before this could be described as him floating above his body during an OBE. He looks down and sees himself how he really is. This could be where the schizoids infamous honesty comes from (like in the case reported by Wilhelm Reich in his book Character Analysis). The genius as well gives us access to Advanced Pattern Recognition (prophecy), that normal sleeping man is unable to see. The primary difficulty with the full blown schizophrenic is that they exist in the world of the dead not the living. Leaving beyond phenomenal reality, they are residents of the mind. In that they are no longer part of the physical universe, illusions (ideas) become completely real. One could claim the vision of the schizophrenic is totally uncensored, and so explaining his amazing ability for prophecy. What is crucial for this to occur is for all of his attention to be focused on what ever it is he is trying to understand. Any thing that would interrupt that concentration is a detriment to his prophecy. Therefore it becomes absolutely necessary to cut off all experience from the phenomenal world of distractions (involvement from that which you are observing also counts as a disturbance). So even though the vision of a true seer may be clearer and unfettered, he as the hermit doesn't partake of that which he observes.
One of the oddest things the Kundalani model of consciousness tries to prove is that mind can exist independent of the body, and that the out of body experience is not an illusion, but an actual liberation from the flesh. This of course would seem to give hope for an afterlife, which I think is a very probable argument. This is a radical turn around for a former avowed atheist. I now have a model that I think I can belive in and have some degree of faith in its accuracy of prediction. One thing musn't be forgotten, this correlates as well to the schizophrenic mind. The Out of Body Experience seems to correlate to perfectly to the ascension of the spirit into heaven. What I don't understand is that if the OBE is real (which I am certain is, because I have experience it) what purpose would there be for the mind to create the illusion of a separation from the mind and body? An illusion so real that people who don't suffer the confusion of toxic chemical induced hallucination. That is remain rational, and well aware of what is happening to them. So they are delusional even though they have no difficulty assessing the situation they are experiencing, and when they return to the body they function normally, like they never experienced the psychotic event. Which it seems hard to be classified as such, in that they were never any danger to themselves nor others. That besides in these relativistic times you would be hard pressed to find two philosophers or two of any body that understood the world exactly the same. What we see and experience is a very small part of the universe, what awaits us out there the greatest minds couldn't imagine or hallucinate. Besides if the mind could be shown to be not only an interaction of the body, but also a separate force unto itself, no matter if it was a hallucination or not it still must be significant. Some equate it with the lucid dream, and this seems like a plausible theory. Many OBEs are experienced in waking conscious and many lucid dreamers will tell you their is a distinction between the two. As well, this response answers a question with a description. We already know what its like but, what is it? The classic answer is that awareness is tied up in the brain and that all other notions about it existing elsewhere are merely superstitious. This is obviously arrogant dogmatism, there is no proof that conscious awareness exists in the brain. Western scientists who already believe this (as with most Westerners) have evidence to support this and in the age of inforMaatian, is the most promising (or promoted) theory. Even still it is anything but fact. Far from that, most scientists admit they know next to nothing about the brain, let alone the meaning of life. As far as philosophers goes, we only hear of the contemporary Western ones (maybe I should change that to singular). This amounts to nothing less than racism, which is the legacy of the colonizing West. As far as they have been concerned nothing else exists, and it probably doesn't after they get done with their policy of cultural genocide. They call it a free market, free thought, and the countless other liberties, and it turns out to be a free ride. An escape route for the conspirators. The point I am trying to make is that there have been other theories, and the idea that we are so much wiser than older civilizations because we are here and they are gone, is hubris, and unjustly deserved. When you consider some of the marvels of antiquity, that our geniuses of modern science are unable to explain, that and the countless destruction we've caused to the URth, how can we say that we are wiser than them. We, a civilization buried before it could expire. Like sour milk, these delusions of grandeur leave a bad taste in your mouth. Sort of like when you know your being told a lie.
To get back to what I was saying other cultures have placed the seat of awareness in other locations. The Egyptians placed it at the heart, and according to the tantrists there are areas of consciousness throughout the body. This last model is the one I personally adopt, and its my opinion that it is completely universal. It can be seen in the Tree of Life (or ladder of lights, the steps of course being the charkas) among the Jews, the Yggdrasil tree among the Norse, the central pole of the voodoo temple, which the spirits use to enter the temple, as well possibly behind the myth of Jack and the bean stalk, where he climbs it to kingly castle in the heavens. Our Western model of awareness is considered in the much more ancient system of tantra (as the brow charka), among six other levels we don't even recognize. By concentrating our power of awareness so much, we miss seeing that which might disturb us. The theory of hallucination is the most dominant theory and if the kundalani model is to be true (or multi- system, in that their are other degrees, or levels of awareness, particularly along the CNS) then it will have to be proved that the experience can't be caused by the gray matter. The biggest obstacle for over coming this hurdle would probably have to be EEG read outs during OBEs, where there was obvious brain fluctuation, while mind was independent. It would seem that what was actually happening was, the mind was generating as well remembering the things experienced.
Something that seems to support the multi-system model very well is experiences by surgical patients who have had OBEs while under anesthesia; a not so uncommon event. When put under the gas, all vital functions are nearly suspended, and the patient is put in such a far out level of consciousness that they are cut off from the surgery on their body. They really are riding the line between life and death, and there is always some chance that one might not be able to be revived; that is brought back. Now as far science is concerned when one is anisthized there is no conscious awareness. Then how can OBE experincers recall events that occurred during the surgery that they claimed to witness? By ESP perhaps, but how when the brain is barely fluctuating, does one clearly describe events. I mean when someone is drunk their understanding of an event is very limited, but when the brain is barley functioning or when someone is hallucinating from the OBE delusion he is going to clearly and accurately describe an event, while claiming to not feeling as though he was delusional. So he was experiencing a psychotic event then, even though he wasn't aware of it (appearing normal, in the sense he could think rationally), once the experience is over is now non-delusional (even though he also experiences this as normal). This logic doesn't seem to follow. I have had toxically induced hallucinations, and I can tell you, you are very aware that things aren't rational in your behavior or in reality. This is your ontology (model of the phenomenal universe) or ego, and these confusions of self don't occur during the OBE. There are certain interesting OBE myths that seem to suggest the mutli-system model. Like that if you stay out of your body to long you will die, or if you rise to high into the atmosphere (the astral planes). Therefore ascension seems to correlate with dying, and perhaps if you ascend to far, you will not be able to return. The strongest correlation anesthesia has with the OBE is oxygen, in the upper atmosphere there is little, and when you are anasthized your breath is taken away. Maybe if you rise to high you will run out of oxygen and you brain cells will quickly deteriorate (as you completely move on to the Crown). I remember from my own personal experience that after a bit of exploring I got frightened that I would travel to far, so I turned around and returned to my body. Once there I wasn't quite sure how to get back in. This began to seriously worry me, I wasn't sure if Id be able to return. I finally leaped forward and gradually returned to the flesh. Their needs to be experiments conducted to determine if the multi-system hypothesis is true. Perhaps some of the more interesting ways would be from studies of remote viewing. If it could be determined that events could be described in places some distance away this might contribute as proof. For if events could be described remotely in real time, this would seem to suggest an uncommon form of ESP. For rather than some generalized impression we could have a more accurate description as the event is unfolding. Flatliner like experiments might be conducted to check an EEG while one was no longer living. While also giving one a chance to explore, and therefore map the afterlife. The theory I am proposing doesn't say there is no relation between the mind and body, nor do I claim that it is at all casual. The mind is a development of the body. Through millions of years of eviloution as they say. Consciousness is programed into our DNA, and is what makes us unique, and separate to the rest of creation. In chapter five I will go more in detail on how the one (body) gives rise to the other (mind) and eventually might become independent of it. Its kind of like friction, if it becomes great enough you'll start a fire and burn down the house.
The following quote is from an article that appeared in the women's magazine Cosmopolitan: "In his study of five hundred NDEers, DR. Morse found that one-fourth of them had trouble wearing watches, which would stop or work improperly. This oddity has lead him to a theory of his own: NDEers alter the subtle electromagnetic fields surrounding the body. Its known that as cells die, a powerful charge of electromagnetic energy is given off. Dying organisms emit a light shout more than a thousand times their normal electromagnetic 'signature." What awaits us at the gate of Heaven, and what laws will govern our fate. This is the next frontier for man, it is the goal of progress, the liberation from the flesh. The utopia in the sky, is only a charicature in these nihilistic times. It says more about the loss of spirituality by our leaders and the corruption of their souls. We have worshiped a machine and still do. What hasn't been determined is if this theory be true, then what might be your fate beyond the pearly gates? Might not this be different for each person, at this stage fully individuized? The shamans tell of different fates for a multitude of lives, choices, victories, and mistakes. Could it be our guilt that haunts us in the beyond, super ego incarnate? Or perhaps in our mad dash for the end of the URth, we will loose all hope for a here after, when there is no here. Like the condition before the creation of the world, there will only be a void. Kind of like the hollow feeling you get around your chest, for you know there can be no life after death, when there is only death in life. Your heart weighed, Anubis sentences you to eternity in Amenta, with no hope for parole.
